Descriptive Text ·          Definition A descriptive text is a text that describes the features of particular thing, e.g. someone, something, or a certain place. Description is usually organized to include: -    an introduction to the subject of the description; -   characteristic features of the subject, e.g. physical appearance, qualities, habitual behavior, significant attributes. ·          Social Function The social purpose of the descriptive text is to describe the particular person, thing, or place.  For example: The social purpose of the text “Wonosobo” is to describe a city name Wonosobo. ·          Text structure Identification : identifying the phenomenon to be described.
